Warne Norris Trust Fund Appeal Update as at 6 April 2005
The Trust Fund Committee first met on 3 March 2005 to deliberate on operational procedures and the basis for distribution of funds to the Warne Norris family in accordance with the trust deed lodged with the Tax Office.
At that stage over $50,000 had been raised. There had been many other donations of goods and services to the family in addition to the cash donations in the Trust Fund.
The first payment to the family was made on 6 April 2005 and was to fund the upgrading of the family car from a 1985 model Pajero to a 1995 model. The Trust Committee believed this to be a reasonable request and considered it essential that the family have a vehicle that is reliable, cost effective and with the added benefits of more modern safety features.
Further payments are in progress, pending provision of quotes and other budgetary information.
